IGCSE Chemistry Revision Timetable
IGCSE Chemistry revision works best when topic learning, calculation practice, practical questions and timed papers are planned together. A timetable stops revision turning into random note-reading.
A good IGCSE Chemistry revision timetable should rotate Cambridge 0620 topics, schedule Paper 2 multiple-choice practice, Paper 4 theory practice and Paper 6 practical-style questions, then reserve the final weeks for timed papers and error-log review.
Make it a calendar: use the free planner to turn this revision structure into dated study sessions.
Build my study planBest weekly structure for IGCSE Chemistry
Use a repeatable week rather than a perfect-looking wall chart. Each week should contain one content block, one question block, one practical-skills block and one review block. That gives you enough variety to practise chemistry as an exam skill, not just as a set of notes.
| Session | Main task | Example focus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Retrieve the topic from memory, then repair notes | Bonding, structure and properties |
| 2 | Attempt topical questions with the mark scheme closed | Electrolysis, rates or organic chemistry |
| 3 | Practise Paper 6 style data, method and analysis questions | Ion tests, chromatography or titration method |
| 4 | Mark, write an error log and schedule the next review | Wrong units, missing state symbols, vague explanations |
Four-week IGCSE Chemistry timetable
If the exam is close, compress the syllabus into a four-week cycle. Do not spend all four weeks rewriting notes. The final week should be mainly timed papers and targeted repair.
- Week 1: particles, atomic structure, bonding and the periodic table. Add short calculation drills at the end of each session.
- Week 2: quantitative chemistry, acids, salts, electrolysis, energetics and rates. Keep a separate list of calculation mistakes.
- Week 3: metals, air and water, organic chemistry, polymers and practical skills. Add Paper 6 questions every other session.
- Week 4: timed Paper 2, Paper 4 and Paper 6 practice, followed by mark-scheme review and weak-topic repair.
How to make it fit your real week
Start with the time you actually have after school, homework, clubs and rest. Then give weaker topics earlier sessions while your energy is better. A student with four 45-minute sessions per week should not plan the same timetable as a student with ten sessions.
My Study Plan can turn this structure into dated study blocks. Add Chemistry as a subject, set its importance and confidence honestly, then export the result as a PDF or calendar file.
What to do near the exam
In the last seven to ten days, reduce new content. Focus on the mistakes that keep appearing: mole calculations, required wording, qualitative analysis, graph interpretation and experimental improvements. Keep final sessions lighter so the timetable does not collapse right before the exam.

Common questions
How often should I revise IGCSE Chemistry?
Most students do better with several shorter Chemistry sessions each week than one long session. The timetable should include topic recall, questions, practical skills and review.
Should I revise Paper 6 separately?
Yes. Paper 6 practical-style questions need specific practice with methods, variables, observations, graphs and data handling.
When should I start full IGCSE Chemistry past papers?
Start full timed papers once you have repaired the biggest topic gaps, then increase timed practice in the final weeks before the exam.
